Metrocrest Chamber and US India Chamber Form Strategic Partnership

Farmers Branch, TX — On Monday, June 9, 2025, the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce and the US India Chamber of Commerce DFW (USICOC) officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening international economic ties and fostering new opportunities for collaboration between North Texas and Indian business communities.

The MOU was signed at the Metrocrest Chamber offices by Michael Gallops, President & CEO of the Metrocrest Chamber; Raj Daniels, President & CEO of the USICOC; and Baharak Sotoudeh, Chair of the Metrocrest Chamber Board of Directors. The signing was also attended by USICOC Chairman Emeritus Sunil Maini, who shared reflections on the Chamber’s history and its longstanding efforts to bridge U.S.–India business relationships.

Several local leaders attended the signing ceremony, including Farmers Branch Mayor Terry Lynne, Addison Mayor Bruce Arfsten, and Carrollton Councilwoman Rowena Watters. Special recognition was given to Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick, who was present and credited by Michael Gallops for first proposing the idea of an MOU between the chambers.

“This partnership opens the door for our members and communities to connect with international markets in meaningful and impactful ways,” said Michael Gallops. “We’re not just celebrating a signing—we’re building a long-term pathway for business growth, innovation, and cultural exchange.”

The agreement outlines a commitment to:

  • Exchange information on economic, workforce, and trade initiatives;
  • Co-sponsor cultural and international business development events;
  • Share reciprocal memberships and event access;
  • Hold quarterly review meetings to ensure continued collaboration.
By connecting local businesses with international counterparts, both chambers aim to support regional economic development and global competitiveness. The partnership also supports the Metrocrest Chamber’s broader goals of expanding international engagement and advocating for inclusive growth across Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch.
